Altar Of Flies ‎– Tomrum Reel-To-Reel, cd-r box (Sentimental Productions ‎– Sentiment.002)

Released as limited edition boxset (30 copies only) and includes silk-printed custom box, vintage reel-to-reel magnetic tape with recorded phonogram, CD-R with the same audio material, the set of 4 hand-printed cards, artist's photocard and authentic elements of original reel tapes packages.

"This recording was originally meant to be released on an American label. After a few years of waiting everything run out in the sand. So when Edward asked me if I wanted to do this beautiful reel to reel release on his label, I felt that "Tomrum" would be perfect for that format.
In 2010 I found a cheap Sony reel to reel recorder in a thrift store and had started experiments with reel to reel loops. I also had started doing loops with an broken tape echo.
So this is a very important puzzle in the Altar Of Flies discography since it´s the first release that included reel to reel and tape echo loops. It´s the missing link between "Förruttnelsen" and "Sacred Trails". I think that this recording have stand the test of time and still sounds very good. Four tracks that forebodes both the "Female" and "The Violent Blow" LPs that were recorded not long after this." Mattias Gustafsson

I cannot praise this album enough. This album is absolutely terrifying! The many starts and stops creates this very h settling tension. Each start expands on the stopper idea previously. It’s like the music equivalent of walking through thick fog while passing out multiple times throughout trying to find a place to orientate yourself. There may or may not be something sinister in that fog, but you don’t want to stick around to find out. Bought the vinyl so I summon the fog demons through spe showhornwithteeth
